The two year programme of study is open to males and females aged 16 and over.
Learning Arabic the language of the Holy Qur’an, is a religious, communal obligation.
It is the language of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the language of the people of Paradise. It is among the original languages revealed to Prophet ‘Adam ﷺ.
The Arabic language is an Islamic science whose branches are numerous and vast. For these reasons, the Muslim should acquire this knowledge from trustworthy Muslim teachers who have sound chains of narration.
- To read the book of the Holy Qur’an, one must know how to read Arabic.
- To write down the words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, one must know how to script and write the Arabic letters.
- To understand the authentic Islamic texts of the scholars, one must understand the rules of grammar and syntax.

How much are the fees?
The IAB offers its services without the intention of making a profit, but to at least cover our costs. Hence, we have tried to keep the costs as affordable as possible.
- Registration fee £100 – to be paid once application form is completed. This is to cover admin fees, the cost of the welcome pack and student induction procedures.
- Tuition fees £2000 – the academic year will be around 44 weeks per year. The fees include the content material.
- Boarding £1000 – for males only; females would need to find a family to stay with.
- Food £1200 – three meals each day.

Can I study abroad?
The IAB is currently developing opportunities for its students to extend their studies by studying the Arabic language in an Arabic speaking country. Further information will follow. -
What about the exams?
All material will be examined via written and/or oral exams. The academic pass grade for each year is 70% (weighted average). -
Is there any accommodation?
IAB offer students the opportunity to stay within our dormitories for an extra fee. However, currently we only provide this facility for males – females may be accommodated with a suitable family locally.
Boarding fee £1000 per year (does not include food).

How long do we study?
The Arabic Language and Religious Studies Programme is a full-time (6 days each week) three year course for individuals aged 16 and above.
